Q: Do you teach Children? No I'm afraid I don't - but I do know someone who does.  I can happily recommend Jane Mariner at Little Stitchers

Q: Where are the classes? Virtually all my classes are held at Sew Busy, Branksomewood Road, Fleet, Hampshire GU51 4JS, UK. Occasionally I teach at other venues by invitation.

Q: Can I bring my own machine? For all the classes we use the Janome CXL 301 machines in the shop.  They are excellent machines for both absolute beginners and those more advanced in their skills.  The only exception to this is for the Get To Know Your Sewing Machine Class for which you obviously bring your own.  The reason for using the machines in the shop is to streamline the class.  I know these machines inside out and so when I demonstrate the various stages of a workshop it is then easy for the class participants to replicate that step.

Q What should I bring with me? When you book your class you will be sent a full materials list of what to bring for that class.  Whilst we have things like scissors. pins etc you may like to bring your own and that's fine.

Q: How do I book a class? Just click on the CLASS BOOKINGS page at the top of this page.  Click on the class you want to book, select the date and number of places you would like to book and click 'Add to Cart'.  When you have added all the classes you want to book, you can then click on the 'Cart' icon in the top right corner and complete the checkout form.  Once you have booked you will receive an automated reply in the first instance, followed by a more detailed email a few days later confirming your booking and telling you what to bring with you.

Q: Do you do private lessons?  I do offer this, but obviously only if I think I can genuinely help you!  The rate is £25 per hour.  The class would be at Sew Busy in Fleet.  I am generally available for these classes on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday afternoons and possibly at other times by arrangement.  If this is something you are interested then drop me an email in the first instance to Jo@thecraftynomad.co.uk and I will see if it is something I can help you with.

Q: Is there parking nearby? The best place to park for DAY TIME classes is the multi story car park above the Hart Shopping Centre as it is £2 for up to 4 hours. This is accessible via Albert Street.  For EVENING classes there is the car park across the road from the shop as it is £1 for the whole evening.  Alternatively you can park for free further down Branksomewood Road, with no time restrictions in the evening.  You might find www.parkopedia.com helpful to reference.

Q: I'm not sure what level I am - how can I find out? My classes are assigned one of five levels, you can see which one matches your ability best HERE.

Q: Will I be able to buy what I need for the class at the shop? Absolutely! Sew Busy is a fabulous well stocked haberdashery with a wonderful selection of quality fabrics and notions.
