Come and have a super fun day with like minded people. Have fun learning a new skill.

What: Perhaps you have mastered straight line quilting but would love to try some free motion quilting.  During this skills session I will demonstrate various popular free motion quilting designs and you will practice these and produce some sample squares to take home with you for reference.  I will also demonstrate other designs I have quilted onto some of my quilts as shown in the pictures. Perfect for someone taking their first steps in Free Motion Quilting. This workshop is aimed at people who can already sew and is not suitable for absolute beginners. You must be confident in using the sewing machine and ideally will have made a quilt before.

When: Sunday 17th February 2019 - 10-4pm

Where: The workshop will be held in Hook, conveniently situated just off the M3 (Jn 5), in Hook Community centre. Free parking available. Train station about a 15 minute walk away. The hall is upstairs and has a stair-lift but no actual lift, so isn’t accessible for wheelchairs.

How Much: £60 - this includes: 6 hours of tuition; tea, coffee, delicious cake and biscuits and a door prize

What to Bring:

  • Your Sewing Machine (in full working order) with pedal, manual and cables - Your machine must have the capability to do Free Motion, by either lowering the feed dogs or covering them. If in doubt please contact me before booking.

  • Darning presser foot

  • Tools

  • Materials for the project (a list will be sent to you after booking)

  • Your lunch (there is a fridge available). There is a sweet cafe on site should you prefer to buy your lunch.

Once you have booked, you will be sent an email confirmation and nearer the time a full materials list.

Booking Terms & Conditions

Full payment is due upon booking your place on the class. Workshops are for adults only.

Cancellation Policy: Once you have booked, your place is non-refundable. This is due to the cancellation terms for the hiring of the hall. However if you find you are not able to come then you are welcome to send someone else in your place, and do contact me as I may have a waiting list and if I can fill the place for you then I will.

The Crafty Nomad reserves the right to cancel a workshop. In such cases, a full refund will be issued. NOTE: Please be advised that a course requires a minimum number of people booked onto it for it to run.  If this is not met the workshop may be cancelled and a full refund will be issued, or you can transfer to a future course.  The Crafty Nomad will not be liable for any materials you have already purchased.
